NEW: Sporting Select Futsal — a national-level showcase futsal program built for the top futsal players in U8-U12 age groups, boys and girls.
The Sporting Select Futsal program is built on a pathway of optional COE trainings (led by National ID and former Sporting KC shadow coaches) that provide an ID opportunity for the SSF team, which will compete in State, Regional, and National tournaments in the United States so players can showcase their talent against the best and stack their resumé of game film starting at the youngest bracket.
• The SSF Pathway: every player starts with the COEs, which are small-group trainings where development happens and talent is identified. The top performers at these COEs are invited to join exclusive 10-player Sporting Select rosters. Those teams then compete at the highest level — in the Heartland Futsal League, at state and regional tournaments — and the potential to advance to a national stage and optional showcases. Every player grows through the COEs, the best move up to Select, and the Select travel roster is the chance for showcase

How Sporting Select Works:
The Pathway
We’ve structured Sporting Select Futsal so there’s a clear path for every player.
First, players start at the SSF Centers of Excellence. These small-group training environments are where the real work happens.
Every player gets hands-on coaching, futsal-specific touches, and individual training from Coach Ngozi Gregory.
From there, the most committed and talented players are invited to the Sporting Select roster.
These rosters are capped at just ten players per age group. We will not accept more than that under any circumstance.
Finally, the team competes.
Players who make the roster will step into the Heartland Futsal League, traveling to state and regional tournaments, and then to a national stage showcase.
The pathway:
• Step 1: Train at the COEs.
• Step 2: Get invited to the SSF team.
• Step 3: Represent Sporting Select and Kansas City in league/showcases
Every player will benefit at Step 1. The best advance to Step 2. And Step 3 is where the top players in each age group get the chance to showcase their talent on the biggest futsal stages in the United States, and stack up their resumé of film and competition.
Center of Excellence Session Details
At the heart of the program are the Centers of Excellence. These sessions are where every player starts, and they are designed to both develop and identify talent.
Sessions are open to all players from any club. They’re priced at just $25 per session, and players can attend as many as they’d like.
Each session is capped at just 14 players, run in hourly blocks, and they’re led directly by Coach Ngozi Gregory. Players who shine in these environments will earn an invitation to the Select roster.
However, if a player decides he/she isn't interested in playing on the Sporting Select team, the COEs by themselves are one of the best futsal training opportunities available in Kansas City.

The Sporting Select Futsal Team
Overview
Being chosen for the Sporting Select roster requires top performance, but provides the most opportunity for futsal talent showcase and competition.
Players who make the team will:
• Compete in the Heartland Futsal League, always playing up against older, stronger opponents
• Represent Sporting BV in the Kansas State Tournament in Wichita this December
• Play in the Regional Tournament at New Century in January
• Have the chance to qualify for a National showcase later in the year
Each roster is capped at ten players per age group, which means these teams are a privilege and invite-only. Players who do not attend a COE will not be allowed to join the SSF.
The Fees & Roster Details:
If you are selected for the SSF you'll join a roster of 8-10 players. It will never exceed 10 players.
Team fees are shared equally across the roster. Fees include:
• Heartland Futsal registration ($775/team)
• Kansas State tournament ($500/team)
• Heartland Regional tournament ($475/team)
• Coach travel
All in, the program will cost approx. $250 per player per YEAR, plus coach travel - which is also split across the team.
Who Coaches SSF?
Ngozi Gregory - USYF National ID Coach
Coach Ngozi Gregory has been coaching for 9 years—with 7 years dedicated to futsal—and knows exactly how to develop players through the game. He grew up in New York City, played at all levels from youth to pro, and now brings that full playing background to his coaching.
Education & Licenses
• Bachelor’s & Master’s in Sports Management
• Background in Spanish
• Licensed at 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11, and D level
This means the program is run by someone who’s not only experienced on the field, but also fully trained and credentialed to teach the game the right way at every level.
High-Level Coaching Experience
• Sporting KC Academy (U11–U14 COE): Shadowed & learned firsthand how a top MLS academy identifies/develops talent.
• USYF National ID Program: Helped identify the best futsal players in the country—those chosen to represent Team USA internationally.
